Operating for “Urmel aus dem Eis”

COLD was responsible for operating a moving light system consisting of 270 VL 5s and 12 VL 3000s for the Sat.1 production “Urmel aus dem Eis.” The television adaptation—performed live in front of an audience as a stage play and filmed for Sat.1—was produced at the MMC Studios in Cologne-Ossendorf. Control was handled via a Grand MA 1 system in multi-user mode. In order to better assess the set lighting in particular, the set was imported in advance as a 3D model into the Grand MA 3D software, and a lighting simulation was created. This also reduced setup times in the studio, as the lighting groups had already been configured for each scene.
