Lighting design for “You deserve it!” MBC & ATV studios

In the summer of 2011, COLD created the lighting design and oversaw the initial setups for the social quiz show “You Deserve It” at MBC studios in Beirut and ATV studios in Istanbul.

The new quiz show format was produced for the Arab market by MBC in Beirut and subsequently for Turkey by ATV in Istanbul. In this quiz show, a contestant does not play for themselves but for a socially disadvantaged winner, who is not informed of this in advance. The contestant is accompanied by friends and family members. Through a series of pre-recorded segments, the audience is informed about the situation of the eventual recipient of the prize (e.g., earthquake victims, survivors of single-income households, etc.). The show thus always has a winner; the contestant attempts to maximize the prize amount by giving correct answers during the individual rounds. At the end of the show, the winner is revealed during a live connection with them.
